This NO RESERVE auction is for a 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon powered with a 1.9-liter, water-cooled four-cylinder engine that generates 83 horsepower, thanks to the Digi-Jet fuel-injection system. This 1985 Vanagon Westfalia is virtually a rust free vehicle, used as a daily driver and comes with a newer German made side tent by Herzog a ladder for the upper bunk and a newer skylight both from GoWesty. This is the weekender model which will carry all of your camping gear plus six people comfortably. I am not certain of the mileage, and it could use some cosmetic work. It is a great starting point for a camper project that could be camped in and enjoyed in the mean time. The windshield and the dash are cracked and it could use a carpet kit. The body is very solid, but has a fair share of dents and rock chips. This Vanagon was ordered from the factory without power steering. It has a larger factory steering wheel and a manual steering rack, much easer to turn than a Vanagon with power steering and a bad rack. It never had air-conditioning and also has a manual transmission. It seams that Vanagon’s equipped with power steering, air-conditioning and automatic transmissions cause most Vanagon owners I’ve talked with problems anyway, the less to go wrong the better. It runs and drives well and has been well maintained. A newer heavy duty LuK/German clutch plate and throw-out bearing (for longer ware) and new brake master cylinder installed last summer. The radio is not hooked up and the speedometer is not working. It has a complete set (including the spare) of the correct Continental 185 R14 with a C load rating with 90% tread remaining. Has a current Missouri safety inspection and emissions.
