This listing is for a VERY RARE WWII vintage ships barometer made by the firm of R.FUESS, probably for the Kriegsmarine. It is in a nickled brass case, silver dial that is graduated in millibars. 4 1/2" (110 mm)dial, 6 1/4"(160mm) o.a. diameter. Flange mount case.Includes it's original issue fitted wooden box,(foam is starting to deteriorate some after 60+ years).Very nice box, with intricate dovetailed joints. Movement is fully jewelled, and are they ACCURATE when calibrated correctly! Offset Set hand is available at extra xost if so desired, so it goes INSIDE the indiator hand,(which is uniquely designed to eliminate paralax viewing errors). Nice case, that is "nickle" plated, in the "hurry up" style common during WWII. Very nice to look at, no dents or dings that I can see. Perfect companion for your Wempe Chronometerwerkes WWII ships clock. Free shipping to the U.S. for "buy it now".
This instrument has been ultrasonically cleaned, then sparingly lubricated with moebious clock oil to provide many years of trouble free service in weather predicting aboard your vessel. Finally it has been precision calibrated in my IDEAL-AEROSMITH calibration chamber to provide complete accuracy.Check out the calibration report for assurance of accuracy.
