It is oil feild duty mahew jr, with heat treated tool joint connections, not cheap 1" plumbing pipe like the small toy rigs use.

R-77 Magnum Specs
10,000 lb weight rated swivel  - You can only drill as deep as the swivel weight rating will hold drill pipe weight, thats why most companies don't show there swivel weight ratings, because they don't match there drilling depths they advertize.

Side inlet intake on swivel is a massive 2 inch flow. What good is a large mud pump when it is reduced down to 3/4 or 1 inch water course swivel opening.
Rig Mast
The R-77 magnum mast is USA made Heavy wall I-beam, not light gauge tubing like used on china car-ports. There are many things in life to save money on, but mast and swivels  are not one of them. When your in a bind, pulling drill pipe out , you can't aford to have a mast that folds up on you.
Mayhew jr drill pipe  (no seem pipe ) 10ft lenghts
The large 2 3/8 "drill pipe is still oil feild industry standard . Toy rigs use small toy plumbing pipe. Talk is cheap, if you want to drill you need flow, to get flow you need large drill pipe flow& large swivel flow. The mayhew jr connections are heat treated so they last & last. Also the threads are very course and don't over tighten.
All of our pipe is first tested at 6000psi before it is used. With the 10ft lenghts that means less connections and faster getting out of the hole and getting casing in before bore hole caves in.
Beware of 4ft,5ft and 6 ft pipe connections, theres a reason for short drill pipe. Short drill pipe means light duty mast and weaker hydraulic's that can't handle the extra weight. One more tip, If you drill a 300ft well with 5 ft drill pipe and ream it out 3 times that takes 360 pipe connections going down and up & out each time, WOW. With 10 ft pipe that cuts connections and drilling time in half. And if your 10ft drill pipe is large & ridgid Like 2 3/8" you can drill and ream wells in 2 passes instead of 3 or 4 or 5.

Our engines are not China knock offs, but 100% REAL Yanmar from top to bottom.

Hydraulics
The life of any hydraulic machine is the design. The R-77 has a large hydraulic tank so hydraulic oil stays cool. Over heated oil damages pumps,valves and pumps and seals. Our rigs have been tested in the  summer heat where summer temps get up to 95 degrees at 10.30 am in the morning. Also our pumps and drive motors are computer flow matched to work together so they produce torque enough for the toughest formations without creating extra heat. The hydraulic filter is quick change, so even a novice can change them in 30 seconds, no special tools needed.
Hydraulic hoses are all standard , for easy replacement and repair. we stock replacments,but replacments also can be bought at any auto parts store or equipment company.We strive to build the best drilling rig in its class anywhere, not corner the parts market. There's  nothing worse than to have a rig down,because of a simple hydraulic hose blows .Then find out , that it can only be bought in New york city and it's friday 5.30 pm. Companies that custom design in a world wide parts market in there equipment hold you hostage, charging 100s for even the smallest O-ring or hydraulic hose. This is not our style.
Prices
When researching & pricing drilling equipment look for swivel weight ratings & water course sizes, Drill pipe lenghts and pipe stroke lenght, And drill pipe ID and OD. Also what drill pipe connections and threads.    CA-21* 1 1/2",   Mayhew jr *2 3/8" ,api 2 7/8" 8 round upset are real water well and oil feild standards.The rest are just honey lip salesmen and china muffer pipe.

Don't get hung with plumbing pipe or electric conduit, and be told its real heavy duty drill pipe, its only for toy rigs. We only sell real oil feild grade drill pipe , not imported china pipe with seems and a shallow thread job on it.Please educate yourself, or get a degree in the school of hard knocks.For more help, try out DIY help books.

Making money drilling
The Drilling business and very good, because even if things slow down, you still need a drink. Just do a test, call a few drillers out of the local phone book. You will find out, it may be 2 to 3 days before they even return your call, then you will find out that they quote you a high price twice as high as your guess and don't care if you like it. Then ,even if you have cash in hand waiting for them, ask them how fast they can get there to start, if they can start before 3 to 5 weeks i will be surprized. Also with geothermal  ac / heat taking off and enviromental soil testing theres a big market also. Obama promises to mandate more geothermal use nation wide.With city water prices going higher and water quality poor, people desire ther own water well.

Land developing And getting your return back fast.
When you can buy cheap country land or remote property and add a water well, you just changed some cheap remote land to a desirable get away retreat someone would be glad to pay top dollar for. The thing that makes land cheap is no water. Adding a water well to any lot or acre easily adds 10,000 to 18,000 or more to the value. If you have your own drilling rig you can drill and set casing & screen on a 200ft well for about 245.00, plus another 450.00 for a new pump,tank and pressure switch. Still much cheaper than 7 to 12k thousand dollars drillers are charging.

Rental income
The going rate for drilling rig rental is 650.00 per day and 2 day minuim. Renting the drilling rig to land owners works well for people who want a quick return on there money and land owners who want to drill there own water well or geothermal system on there own land.
