Selling my 1946 Willys CJ2A project. I've put a lot of work and money into this with the intent of finishing but I have to let it go with baby on the way!

Some information about the Jeep. It's an early production 1946...serial number 29,344. I have the original data plate showing that. I rescued this from a farm in Central Illinois where it had been stored in a shed for several years.

THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN CARPENTERSVILLE, IL AND IS PICKUP ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN OFFER IF YOU ARE OUT OF STATE AND CAN'T MAKE PICKUP. ALSO THERE IS NO TITLE, ONLY A BILL OF SALE WHICH DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T REGISTER AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY, YOU WOULD JUST HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE BONDED TITLE PROCESS.

The work I've done to the Jeep:

I was lucky enough to find a vintage low hours Generator motor (Go Devil L134) for the Jeep. For those who may not know when these Jeeps were built they put the same motor in generators with the intent that they could be swapped into the Jeeps if need be.

These are highly sought after motors because they have very, very low hours on them and have only seen light duty. This engine has always been stored indoors, started regularly and had regular maintanance performed. It's turns over and runs like new....it's as close to a NOS Go Devil motor as you will find. (NEW motors alone go for $1400+)

I've replaced the oil feed lines on the motor because they were a little dry rotted, purchased a new oil filter, and put a new belt on it. One interesting point is that this engine came with the larger Military issue oil filter housing.

The seat frames were taken out and sanded/primered. They're ready for seat covers now in perfect condition.

The chassis has been sanded down and painted with Chassis Saver, a rust proofing coating very similar to Por15 (better than Por15 in my opinion). The underside of the wheel wells have been sanded and painted with a rubberized undercoating. The inside of the tub and engine bay was sanded and painted with a thin coat of a spray bed liner material.

I purchased 5 original style Kelly Hayes military wheels and tires for the Jeep. They're currently mounted on the Jeep now. The rims are in very good shape, the tires are somewhat dry-rotted but fine for rolling around on.

I pulled the fuel tank out, cleaned/sanded and repaired it (it had a small leak). It's completely functional now and has been painted. I removed the radiator, cleaned and flushed it. Repainted it and ordered new upper and lower hoses for it.

The hood, fenders, tub exterior has all been sanded to metal and primered. It's ready for some body filler and paint. You can see there have been some repairs to the tub. The front fenders are okay but not at all perfect. The grille is in good shape, needs to be sanded and painted.

I have a brand new complete exhaust system for it still with the protective wrap it was shipped in.

What the Jeep still needs:

I removed the master cylinder because it was seized. It has absolutely no brakes right now and I haven't checked the drums or wheel cylinder condition. I removed the old wiring with the intent of order a complete replacement harness from Walcks.com for $200.

I haven't checked the functionality of the clutch, 4 wheel drive mechanism but all seems to be in order. The body needs to be gone over with some filler, smoothed and painted. It needs seat covers and a windshield.

It's basically a wiring harness away from being able to be started and ran. It does not come with a battery.

This is an early production, unmolested original 6 volt Willys Jeep. It's all steel no fiberglass and is not far from being road worthy. Parted out it would be worth more money that my asking price.

You're welcome and encouraged to come and check the vehicle out in person prior to purchase. It is sold with a Bill of Sale and of course, no warranty. It will need to be towed to it's new home.

Please feel free to ask me any questions you have regarding this Jeep. .
