1946 Willys Willys CJ2
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep for sale. This body on this willys is in great shape. There is very little rust out beside some rust out on the tailgate and at the front of the tool box. The tool box itself is not rusted out. It was running and driving before the engine was removed due to excessive oil consumption (smoking). This vehicle is all original with the engine number being 55911, and the body, frame and vin number at 63970. It does come with all three aluminum serial number plates. The acm number stamped on the toe boards is close somewhere around 58000 i believe. The only thing not original on the vehicle is the solex carb. Engine: the engine has been bored to .040, new pistons and rings, new valve guides, decked just enough to leave some serial number, valve seats ground and two cracks repaired. All machining was done in Atlanta, GA by a machine shop. They did an outstanding job! The crank has been ground .010 at the mains and .030 at the rods. I have new pistons, rings, cam bearing, main and rod inserts, valves and springs. The cam is original in in good shape. All other parts are there to reassemble the engine. There wa over $1000 worth of machining work done alone. The engine was standard before the machine work. I installed a new complete exhaust system, brake system (lines and master cylinder) and the head and tail lights worked fine. There is a new fuel pump and voltage regulator. The electrical system is 6 volt. The intake and exhaust manifold is a newly rebuilt one and is very nice. I also installed new clear windshield glass in the frame. The windshield frame is in decent condition with a slight bend in one side and can be corrected with some heat. The rear wheel cylinders were replaced and the two front were rebuilt. The brake shoes are in good condition and did not need to be replaced. The brakes may need some additional adjustment, but work great. This jeep is an excellent candidate for restoration! I was just not able to complete the job. It comes with the rear seat which is an original as well. The tires are original and still hold air. Front locking hubs that work too. The original color of this jeep was yellow and can be seen in the engine compartment and bed of jeep. The jeep even has the original working horn button and the little switch below the dash to turn on the dash light. If you have any other questions please email or call 229-563-4914.
**Note- The rear seat is included and the original floors are still there and seem solid. At some time someone tack welded another sheet of metal over the lower part of the existing floor apparently to stiffen them up. Maybe the original was gettin thin. One picture shows the original from underneathy the willys. ***Note - Picture of grill and crank added!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
