This Women & Motorcycles portrait depicts a female rider enjoying the open country. During this era, many women motorcyclists traveled cross-country, solo,  through rugged terrain where improved roads did not exist.  The law of that timeframe actually read that if women were riding Horses, Bicycles, or Motorcycles, that they were required to ride "side-saddle" and wear a skirt;  women would get arrested for wearing pants while riding motorcycles.  Despite the law, many rebellious women set out on their own, and changed history for the better.

The original painting by Self Representing Artist (SRA), and owner of Wynn Art Studio, Michelle Wynn, was on display in Wheels Through Time museum (Maggie Valley, NC) as part of the museum's tribute to Women and Motorcycles from the years 1905 through 1955.  The originals were on display from May 2006 until May 2007; (a complete set of motorcycle prints were donated to the museum to add to their permanent collection).  After which, the originals were taken to Myrtle Beach Bike Week, where they were displayed as part of Wynn Art Studio's display.  Many people showed interest in the art, including several nationally acclaimed galleries and several motorcycle related businesses.  At the request of US Rider News, the originals were then taken to Swainsboro, GA. as part of a "Motorcycle Art" exhibit, which included the works of 4 other well-known motorcycle artists.  Most recently, the originals were on display at Art in the Heart of Augusta GA.  The originals are now on display at various galleries throughout the United States.

The artist, Michelle Wynn, is also one of the few female motorcycle artists that actually rides her own motorcycle.  She obtained her motorcycle drivers license in 2004, and has enjoyed riding as part of her daily life-style.

This is a quality Offset Lithograph Print of the original art, printed on cover stock paper, using fade resistant inks; This is an excellent quality, brand new Print in mint condition, with a limited 1000 printed and circulated Worldwide. The overall size is 22 inches Wide x 28 inches High, to include the grey digitized mat borders to accommodate a variety of mat and framing configurations, at the discretion of the owner. The top border is 1 inch tall, and the side border is 4 and 1/2 inches wide; Please deduct these borders from the overall print measurements to get the painted image size= Printed image equals 14 inches Wide x 26 inches High.

Why is Sizing so Important? all of Michelle's artwork is completed in standard sizes so you can mount it yourself, in a standard sized frame. There's no need to take this lithograph print to a professional framer; you can visit any Arts & Crafts retail store, and purchase a 22in x 28in frame that suits your taste. We purchased a variety of standard sized frames for the International Women's Conference in Athens, GA, and the customers complimented our displays and the way the printed mat borders look. Why pay for someone to build you an odd sized frame and mat for the art when the artist has taken into consideration the additional expenses of this feat; You can frame this art yourself; OR, at least you'll save if you decide to have a professional matte and frame this art for you.

SHIPPING:  We ship prints in mailing tubes to prevent wrinkling of the print artwork. Contact us if you purchase more than 1 print, and want them shipped in the same tube to save money. We can ship up to 3 prints in a 4 inch shipping tube; and up to 5 prints in a 5 inch shipping tube.  For orders for more than 5 prints, we ship in multiple tubes or in flat boxes (quantity dictates). We will combine shipping on orders for multiple purchases of Lithograph Prints, purchased on the same day.

Shipping Estimates: For 1 print, in 1 mailing tube, the weight is approx 2.5 pounds.  Seller's zip code (30905).  We try to choose the least expensive shipping carrier, and sometimes use DHL, USPS, UPS, or FedEx.  Regardless of the courier, we require insurance and signature confirmation.
