1980 Yamaha XS650 Special,clean,good running daily ride

Vehicle Description

We are offering for sale a 1980 Yamaha XS 650 Special. This is a very clean and good running bike with a clear Florida title. It has just under 20,000 original miles, and will qualify for antique bike tags in Florida next year. It has a couple of very nice custom touches such as the Sportster silencers which offer a very strong good sounding exhaust note, and the wide flat track style handlebars.It is a very good handling bike with the feel of a racer. This would be an excellent candidate for a street tracker,or other custom mods.The major flaws are limited to a couple of small dents in the tank, and a few worn through spots on the seat cover (see pics.) The bike starts right up with the kick or electric start, and runs smoothly and cleanly on both cylinders. It has no leaks, no smoke, and a strong steady idle. It pulls well through all five gears, the trans works correctly, and the clutch grabs positively and smoothly. I find no mechanical issues with the bike, and I consider it turn key, and ready to ride. The turn signals have worked intermittently, and I am working at solving that problem. All other electrical systems function correctly. We have set a modest reserve, so bid to win this fine old bike. The bike is at Olde Iron Cycle Works in Edgewater Fl. ,just off I-95, 20 miles south of Daytona Beach. It can be picked up here, or I may help with delivery in the Southeast U.S. for a modest fee.
