1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4, with 152,800 miles, 4.0L inline 6 cylinder (has plenty of power and much better gas mileage then the V8), 4 speed automatic transmission and Select-Trac 4x4 system (which allows for 2 wheel drive, full time 4 wheel, part time 4 wheel and 4 low).  It runs and drives nice and is very a comfortable vehicle.  The transmission shifts without any issue.  Brakes are in great working order.  The body is in good shape.  The glass is all in good shape with no cracks.  It’s overall a good vehicle.  If you’re a California buyer, the registration is good through October 2012.

Since buying this Jeep I’ve replaced the following items:

Front and rear shocks

Front and real anti-sway bushings and links

Steering stabilizer (basically looks like a shock on the steering rack)

Headlight switch

Upper and lower radiator hoses

Heater hoses

Full tune up

Changed all fluids

 

The bad:

There is a small hole in the driver’s door next to the door lock that looks like at some point someone had tried to break into the Jeep. 

The paint is scuffed up over the rear left wheel arch were it looks like someone got too close with something.

There is a quarter size scratch on the drivers outside mirror where it was scrapped on something.

The headliner could use a good cleaning (I haven’t gotten around to that or replacing it)

The latch on the center console is broken

The plastic handle for the hood release cable is missing (but the cable is still easy to pull)

There is an approximately four inch tear in the leather on the side of the driver’s seat, but the tear does not go through the material under the leather, so the foam padding is not exposed.

The volume knob is missing from the stereo (still turns easy or use the controls on the steering wheel)

 

I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything.  Keep in mind with the defects I have mentioned that this is a 15 year old Jeep.  It’s not going to be perfect, but I’m tried to mention anything, even small items, that I know aren’t in excellent condition so you’ll know what you’re buying.
