Lets face it your stock carberated California 80ci Evo motor, off the show room floor only produces around 45 horsepower and 30 ft/lbs of torque.

In other words it's gutless, your stock motor is grossly under camed in my opinion so that it will pass all the emission controls.No more guessing or wondering if you're being told the truth.

It's not a cheap hop-up in some ways to install a bolt in cam for example...

...you select a Andrews EV510 camshaft as you want to increase your horse & torque of your stock 80ci Evolution motor to around 75 horsepower and 50 ft/lbs of torque .............without losing your stock reliability.

OK let's look at your basic costs for this little hop-up,

1.cam shaft

around $150 bucks

2.Labour around 8 hours at $50 per hour

$400 bucks

3.Misc parts etc

around $100 bucks

4.Increase your compress to 10 : 1

around $125 bucks

We have total of around $775 US dollars.

Now that's it, providing the valve clearance is ok, after all it's supposed to be a bolt in cam.

Bolt in cams are not always bolt in, and in a lot of cases you will need extra head work done and that's going to cost you at least another $200 to $300 dollars.

Now your total cost is around $1000 US dollars and another day or two in the shop.

Whose fault is this any way ......... you want somebody step up to the plate drop the extra charges, either the cam manufacturer or the shop....... nope, everyone passes the buck and you got to pay.

Some unscrupulous shops will get you in and you'll end with a several thousand dollar bill and if can not pay they will lean sale your bike.Do you blame the salesman not knowing better...... or yourself ?

And it's even worse with non bolt in camsYou will save yourself $1000's of dollars .....
