1971 Tintop Westfalia Berliner.

Sink, Icebox,  Rear swivel table, Mosquito net,  Rear table, Swing out sink table, 110 shore power, Dual exhaust. Factory drip guards, Factory finger guards, Factory bumper guards.

Chianti Red bottom color with a pastel white top half.
Cause a stir.. drive this bus.

Originally an all Pastel white bus, much more striking with the Chainti Red bottom half.

Nice upholstery. The bus is very clean in and out and smells great too! No smoking interior. Minor flaws such as stitching on the middle back seat.

The rockers, belly, doglegs, outriggers are all clean and rust free. 

Sleeps 3 comfortably.  Two in the back fold down bed, one in the included child's hammock.

Cabinets are all in fantastic original condition.  All original veneer.

Runs, drives, camps with the best of them. 

The louvered (Jalousie) side windows are in great shape, very clean and work as they should. Also included is the rear mosquito net to keep the little buggers out if you like to camp near water and have fresh air in the bus without getting eaten alive.

Engine has good compression with 110 on all four cylinders, rebuilt, no smoke. Not sure of the miles on the motor. A stack of receipts is included of the work that's been done for about the last 10 years. Sorry, no previous paper trail; but this bus has obviously been taken care of properly.

The 71 bus is highly sought after as it is the last year with the upright motor, (easier to maintain) and the first year with the disc brakes.

All interior, (cargo and dome), dash, marker, lights and headlamps etc work perfect.

Transmission is an updated 002 5 rib that is a bit tougher and has been highway gears than the original 3 rib.

There is NO heat. J tubes have been installed in the place of the stock heater boxes, for whatever reason the previous owner had.

Brakes; gone through, checked and adjusted, no problems. 

All wiring is in great shape.  (a bonus, believe us).

Nice Am/Fm cd player with two front speakers (hidden speakers). Nice JVC mp3/cd deck.

New engine seal. All window/door seals in good shape or they have been replaced except for one window scraper that has a chunk missing, but affects nothing.

Factory manual included. Lot's of paperwork on this bus. Clear title. 
Needs tabs, license and plates. 

Front ball joints and rear cv's all in good shape (but two bottom boots on the ball joints are ripped, ball joints check ok. Shocks absorbers are good.

You are responsible to pay for it and pick it up. We will help where we can, but you are ultimately responsible for pickup. We've overseen VW's shipped all over the world and haven't had a problem yet.  We can help with a good interstate or international shipping company if you haven't done it before. References available on request. After 31 years of being into VW aircooled vehicles I still believe in word of mouth being the best advertising.

I'll take 1/2 down at end of auction. Payment in full is due in 7 days.

I would prefer that (as most sales go) you transfer via wire to my account and pick it up (or have it picked up) when you want. (I've stored them for up to 4 months when shipped overseas).

If you would like other terms or need extended storage, just ask, we have plenty of room.

I reserve the right to end auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally.
