1979 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40

This FJ40 is a frame off restoration performed in 1996 and has been with me since purchased prior to the restoration. The vhicle was purchased from from the original owner living in northern Virginia. Every component was removed in the restoration process except for the firewall (complete pictorial chronicle of the process from start to finish is available). It has been garaged or covered for most of the time after the restoration was completed. The mileage is not the original mileage but that after the engine rebuild. The suspension consists of new springs providing a 3" lift with standard extra length front shocks and rear air shocks including electric air pump - front springs have been reversed to have the shackles trailing the axle. The tires are Michelin 33 x 12.50 R15 LTs with aluminum wheels (5). The front brakes are the factory discs and the rear brakes have been refitted with discs. The tub is aluminum while the front end and top are original Toyota sheet metal. All glass was replaced in the restoration. Original head liner retained, door panels and dash. Seats recovered. Upgraded radio with CD player and Bose speakers. This beauty has rare factory power steering. And is equipped with a Toyota factory PTO (we installed the PTO as the 79s did have the option). The paint is generally very good but could use some attention. Added Hella auxillery front lights.
