What does this modification do?  How does it work?

Essentially, what our FTP Brake Line Kits do is replace the manufacturers rubber or soft-braided lines (often using a type of mesh around a lined rubber hose) with high volume, high pressure stainless steel braided brake lines.  The lines are all DOT approved and manufactured with the highest level of quality control.  Why does this matter?  Well on your stock motorcycle- OEM brake lines are made of rubber.  This is done because rubber lines can be made by the manufacturers (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc) in great quantities and minimum expense.

Stock bikes come from the factory with rubber brake lines that run from the master cylinder (this is the part of the brake that the lever attaches to) to the left and right lower calipers.  The brake lever is applied- and in the rubber lines, the stretch slightly.  What steel braided brake lines do is eliminate this "expansion" and give an immediate, stronger and much more precise contact with the rotors.  This provides better feedback, an a increase in braking power and is less resistant to brake fade. 

All FTP lines are coated with a clear or colored protective coat, protecting the line from the weather and the bike from scratches.

All FTP kits come complete with banjo bolts and washers for easy installation. Banjo bolts should never be torqued over 12 to 15 ft\lbs.

Please read:  All Sport Bike kits are 2 line kits; with the lines traveling from the master cylinder to the caliper directly!!   Both lines will start, using a double banjo bolt, at the master cylinder, the longer line goes from the master cylinder to the left caliper, and the shorter line goes from the master cylinder to the right caliper.  All hardware and brake fuild is included in this kit all you need is tools.
