1977 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL 450

Beautiful car, all original 50,368 miles (radio is Blaupunkt... I'm assuming this is the original radio am/fm cassette)  I am the third owner.  A judge in the Kansas City area was the original owner.  It was his wifes car and not driven very often.  The judges secretary was the second owner and I bought it from them about 3 years ago.  We put about 2-3,000 miles on it with no problems.

Known Issues -  It is leaking Oil.  It does NOT burn oil,  just leaks from dried up seals and gaskets This is a 35 year old vehicle.  I've been diligent about adding oil as necessary, and the dip stick shows good clean oil after use. 

Cruise Control doesn't work properly.  It will accelerate with the lever, but will not hold a consistent speed.  Maybe an easy fix, we never had it looked at.

Air conditioner will not hold a charge, but does work when charhged.

From what i can see, there is one small "door ding" just above the drivers side rear wheel.  The paint is not chiped, and is not very noticable.  (see photo)

Rag top, from what I can remember had a few stitching issues.  Some of the threading has deteriorated.  We never used the rag top and haven't had it out since the day we bought it,  Always driven on nice days.  I put the hard top on for winter storage.  Also have the "storage dolly" for the hard top.

We have the original wheels for this car also.  Was told the wheels on the car, are from a newer model.  Original wheels are in storage, and I can get pictures for you if you would like. The paint is, as best I can tell, all original and looks good from 10-15 feet away up close you can see it's age although it still shines nicely.

All and All, this is a very nice all original 35 year old car that drives like a dream. The clock still works!!!  And the dash is in excellent condition with no cracks. With or without the top. I would not be afraid to take off across country with it.  It's a blast to drive and and it rides very nice.  You can call with questions 9am to 9pm central time 660.329.0302.  I would love to end the auction early so don't be afraid to call me with an offer.
