This item is designed as an add-on upgrade for your existing alarm or keyless entry. It can be activated by pressing either a single button or a combination of buttons on your remote control. If your remote does not have an auxilliary output, it can be activated by pressing Lock>Lock in sequence.  Because it is meant for use as an "add-on",  it does not come with remote controls or an antenna.  The operating range of the system will be whatever the current operating range is for your existing keyless entry or alarm.  Adding the remote start module will neither increase or decrease the range.
