FACTORY 383 BARRACUDA WITH AUTO. NOW HEMI 4 SPEED RECREATION. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO IN 2003. IT WAS VIRTUALLY RUST-FREE WITH ONLY SLIGHT BUBBLING IN ONE QUARTER PANEL. IT HAS AN ALL ORIGINAL FLOOR, TRUNK, SHEET METAL, ETC. ONLY SHEET METAL THAT WAS REPLACED IS ONE QUARTER PANEL AND THIS IS BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT FUTURE PROBLEMS WITH RUST FROM A PATCH REPAIR WHICH I HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST. THIS WAS A ROTISSERIE RESTORATION COMPLETED IN 2004 ENGINE: MOPAR PERFORMANCE CRATE 472 HEMI. THESE ARE THE SAME BLOCK AS A 426 WITH A LONGER STROKE. MAKE MORE POWER FOR ONLY A LITTLE EXTRA. THIS ONE HAS A STORY. I INSTALLED IT IN 2006 AND IT SMOKED BLUE FROM THE START. ALTHOUGH I ONLY DROVE THE CAR MAYBE 50 MILES I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND TALKED TO ENGINEERING ABOUT IT AND THEY OPENED A FILE ON IT WITH ENGINE SER # AND SAID TO DRIVE IT SOME MORE AND REPORT. ALTHOUGH WAY PAST THE STATED WARRANTY IN 2007. I SENT THE ENGINE BACK FOR INSPECTION AS REQUESTED BY DWAYNE FROM CHRYSLER ENGINEERING AND WAS TOLD THAT A NEW ENGINE WOULD BE HAND BUILT AND TESTED THOROUGHLY ON DYNO AND THEN TAKEN APART FOR INSPECTION AGAIN. THEY PAID FOR SHIPPING, MY LABOR AND EVEN THE NEW OIL. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY LOOKED AFTER ME BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. NOTE: I DID INSTALL A 440 WHILE DOING RESTO ( 2004 ) AND THEN VERY CAREFULLY ADDED THE HEMI IN 2006 FUEL: HOLLEY 870 STREET AVENGER. NEW FUEL PUMP AND LINES AND NEW TANK, SENDING UNIT. ( THOUGHT ABOUT 2-CARBS BUT NOT NUMBERS MATCHING ANYWAY ) TRANSMISSION: A833 4 SPEED TOTALLY REBUILT. NEW BEARINGS AND SYNCHRO'S. SHIFTER: BRAND NEW MOPAR RE-ISSUE PISTOL GRIP. REAR: STILL HAS 8 3/4 WITH 3:55 GEARS. NEW GEARS, BEARINGS, MOPAR "GREEN" AXLE BEARINGS. POSI IS LIKE NEW ALSO. EXHAUST: 2 1/2" TTI HEADERS THAT FIT LIKE A GLOVE. FULL 3" WITH X-PIPE TO THE BACK WITH SS TIPS. IT SOUNDS SO GOOD. CLUTCH: CENTERFORCE DUAL FRICTION. ADVERTISED TO HAVE UPTO 70% MORE GRABBING FORCE THAN ORIGINAL. VERY SOFT, SMOOTH FEEL. PEDALS, LINKAGES INSTALLED FROM A 1970 383 CUDA TOTALLY REFURBISHED WITH BUSHINGS, ETC. BODY: AS STATED ALREADY, ROTISSERIE ON A VERY RUST-FREE BODY. INSIDE AND OUTSIDE BEAUTIFULLY PAINTED. I HAVE A BULGE HOOD FOR THIS CAR THAT HAS BEEN PAINTED INSIDE OUT BUT NOT INSTALLED ( AVAILABLE ) AS I ADDED A SHAKER HOOD. IT WAS MADE FROM A FLAT STEEL HOOD. ADDED 71 MIRRORS PAINTED BODY COLOR BRAKES: STILL HAS FACTORY DRUM BRAKES, ALL NEW SHOES, WHEEL CYLS, SPRINGS, HOSES, MOPAR PERF ALUMINUM MASTER CYL. STEERING: FACTORY PS. NEW HOSES, PUMP AND SECTOR SEALS, ALL NEW "PST" STEERING PARTS, TIE-RODS, BALL JOINTS, IDLER ARM, ETC. SUSPENSION: NEW SHOCKS AND LEAF SPRING BUSHINGS. I DID PUT AIR SHOCKS ON THE REAR BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT SAT JUST A BIT TOO LOW. PAINT: IN-VIOLET OR PLUM CRAZY PURPLE. LOOKS AS GOOD AS WHEN IT WAS DONE. INTERIOR: HAS BUCKET SEATS THAT CAME WITH THE CAR BUT THINK THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY A BENCH SEAT CAR. ALL NEW INTERIOR, CARPET, SEATS, HEADLINER. WHEELS: AFTERMARKET NEW 15 X 7 FRONT WITH 15 X 8 REAR. TIRES BF GOODRICH T/A RADIALS GAUGES: HAD RALLY DASH WHEN I GOT IT BUT NOT SURE IF THIS IS WHAT WAS IN IT. 150 MPH SPEEDO. ADDED AFTERMARKET GAUGES ( DID NOT WANT TO TRUST 38 YEAR OLD GAUGES ON $23,000.00 ENGINE - CANADIAN ) TRUNK: LOOKS BETTER THAN NEW. SPACER SPARE IS NOT ORIGINAL BUT LOOKS CORRECT. JACK IS RESTORED. INFLATOR BOTTLE. SPOILER: NOT EQUIPPED FROM FACTORY BUT ADDED A 1971 STYLE BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT LOOKS BETTER ( ACTUALLY COSTS MORE ) ALL WORK OTHER THAN PAINT AND BODY WAS DONE BY MYSELF. I PUT THE WHOLE CAR TOGETHER INCLUDING FENDERS, DOORS, HOOD, GLASS, INTERIOR, POWERTRAIN, EVERTHING. I HAVE SAID, LIKE MANY PEOPLE, I WOULD NEVER SELL THIS CAR BUT THINGS HAVE COME UP.
