Vehicle History Report Summary for 1980 Chevrolet Corvette
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As you can see from the pictures, this is a very unique and tastefully modified 1980 corvette. I've spent 4 years replacing and improving just about every area of the vehicle. I've owned 5 vettes and this one by far receives the most attention in public, at shows and at club meetings. A deffinate head turner. ------------------ THE GOOD: The body was repainted 3 yrs ago, at that time Eckler's fiber-flex composite bumpers were added as well as all new chrome trim, door handles and accents. All of the lights were replaced including h.i.d. headlights. All visible lights are blacked out. The t-tops are mirrored. Windows tinted 15%. Only the crossed flag emblems installed. The stock suspension was replaced with VB&P composite mono-leafs in the front and rear. The lower front a-arms were also replaced with the VB&P "transverse composite system". Both front and rear are fully adjustable in ride height and sensitivity. Currently it is lowered and hugs the road at about 2" of clearance. It has new Bilstein shocks. The chrome studded c5 ZO6 wheels are attached with VB&P aircraft aluminum spacers. The calipers and pads are new and painted bright red. Bearings, bushings and such were also replaced. Front tires are brand new, rear are fair. It handles like it is on rails, unlike any other C3 I've ever driven. All of the transmission seals were replaced. It has powder coated headers, new custom dual exhaust with c5 x pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Interior was COMPLETLY replaced, racing seats, new carpet & mats, new door panels, chrome console and dash panels, 5pt harnesses, steering wheel, each and every little piece such as vents, knobs, switches ect... was replaced. It has a CD head unit and built in 1000 watt Rockford Fostgate stereo system enclosure displaying the amp and 2 woofers while still allowing storage space for the T-Tops underneath. Engine is a GM crate engine, about 300 hp. New radiator and other various components such as alternator, starter, ect...otherwise it is an unmolested factory engine compartment. THE FOLLOWING IS INCLUDE WITH THE VEHICLE: A high performance individually selected engine rebuild kit: This is a $6000 value!!! All receipts included. All new in boxes!!! Everything to rebuild from the short block up. All high quality, all aluminum: The speed shop estimated apx. 600 hp(on motor) once installed. Additionally, a 250 hp NOS Nitrous kit and high output electronic fuel delivery system. I have every little detail to do this conversion. Procomp Aluminum heads, Crane cam, aluminum valve covers, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holly carb, wires, plugs, timing chain and cover, clear distributer, k&n filter system, electric radiator fan, aluminum water pump, new bolts, gaskets and alot more I can't recall but have receipts for. Also included: New high performance sway bars. Some original parts such as coil springs, control arms ect... Multiple books and a huge collection of receipts. THE BAD: Mildew smelling carpet and interior due to brief exposure of run off rain water in the garage level of my condo building (It is new carpet, so should come clean, carpets were wet and now the interior smells quite foul. It will need a good steam cleaning. Most of the interior parts have been wrapped in leather and due to the humidity they will need to be re-sprayed with adhesive. ) Steering column needs repair: I had dissassembled it to repair the "play" in the column, and found that an aluminum collar is cracked. I received a quote to tig weld the broken part and rebuild the entire column for $150 from a Vette specialist in Ft. Lauderdale) Top right corner of windshield has a crack Left rear trailing arm needs a shim installed for proper alignment (a new complete shim kit is included, easy fix by an alignment shop) Headlights are slow to raise (the entire headlight vacuum system has been replaced except the actuator seals, these will fix the issue and are included with the car) Power steering needs a hose replaced (apx. $35 part) Front bumper has a crack, but not drastically noticable (the bumpers are fiberglass composite and can be repaired easily, quote I received was $200 including paint) Chrome on wheels shows wear in some areas (mostly flaking from backside) Drivers window needs help going up last couple inches (new gear teeth kit easily available for minimal cost) One headlight has a crack and discoloration (this is an inexpensive part) Because the steering column is disassembled, the car does not run. It was exposed to water, however I would not consider it a flood car as I dont think any of the major components were affected. Anyone with mechanical skills will be getting a great deal as it's previously apraised value was $25,000. I am selling the car because I need a daily driver with 4 seats and don't have the time spend with this one. The opening bid is $14,500, about half of what I invested over the past 4 years. At this price consider that the car would be $8500 plus $6000 in new hp engine parts and accessories.
