"WANTED"...  SLED DRIVER for the   "  ROCKET SLED"....!

Not for the FAINT of Heart... MUST HAVE GUTS TO OWN AND DRIVE THIS CAR...!!!

Nothing like a Bored and balanced " OLDSMOBILE 455 Rocket"   engine in a 2,000 lb. car..."  !!!!

I re-listed the car because I was inundated with trade offers and "frankly..." I need the money more than another car at this time so I reduced the Start price as well as the Reserve price for a quick sale!

I've had this on the road for 3 years and I've been upgrading the car since day one...

This year I installed a NEW 700R4 and with the "  Winters Quickchange  "    differential I've achieved 18 +  mpg so I was really anxious to get the new engine in and run it at the track.

New shortblock with a
"   Super High Performance 468 Olds engine"   with a 11-1 compression ratio... fully balanced light weight swing assembly and freshened up the Aluminum Heads"    This engine has  Only 2 Hours running time and only 50 miles on the new engine... I'd have many more miles on it if it weren't for the crappy Wisconsin weather.

I put 24,000 miles on it with the old engine and transmission and
ran it at the track a couple of times with a best time of 11.705 at 123 mph with a 1.72 60 foot all from an idle with minimum traction and tires smoking for the first 1/8th mile... !

My Vision was to Install a CAGE... run mid 10 seconds and get 20 mpg and then Paint it Washington Blue. Doesn't look like I'll be able to do it for now... But you could be the proud owner and future "SLED DRIVER"!

The parts Breakdown are as follows:
Started with a Real Steel Henry Ford body
New Quarters, Decklid and Doors
32 Truck Grill Rough but all there
40 Ford dash w/VDO Gages in a Custom Machine Turned Cluster
1957 Ford Column and directional cancel
Vega Cross Steer
Race Heims ends
Cigarette  Lighter for the Cell phone/GPS charger
Leather seats (Very comfy Office chairs for the long haul!)
Winters Quickchange with 3 extra gear sets
Aluminum Driveshaft balanced
JFZ 4 piston Calipers on all four corners
Magnum front Hubs and Rotors
Superbell 4 in. Dropped Axle
Posie Superslider spring
Speedway front Hairpins
Rear Triangulated four bar from "OUTHOUSE ENGINEERING"
SPAX Rear Coil Overs
16 Gallon Spun Aluminum Gas Tank
700R4 Transmission (Wireless overdrive custom built by Midwest Transmissions Eau Claire WI)
Gennie Shifter
Rocket Racing Prepped 468 Longblock with "Fully Balanced" assembly Eagle H Beam rods and Crank, Lunati Solid lifter cam
Custom Tig welded Stainless Steel 2" Exhaust with 8 Samson Motorcycle race baffles
SFI Flexplate and Harmonic Balancer
Edelbrock Aluminum Heads and Dual Quad 600 CFM Carbs
OFFENHAUSER intake (360)
MSD 6AL-2 Ignition
MSD 8566 Distributor
Walker radiator
BLEED Frame and 4 in Body Channel
Rebel Wire Kit
Ferrari Horn
American Torque Thrust II's
(15x5 Fronts and 16x10 Rears w/ 6 in. Negative offset for the perfect stance while concealing the Floater Hubs and Disc brakes).

I'll throw in the partially built Cage... 4130 Chrome Moly tubing... Aluminum race seat... Trans Blanket... Worth every penny and more!

This car handles like a Dream... goes like Stink... Sounds like a Top Fuel rail and Docile enough to drive everyday reliably on Premium pump gas!

Some photo's of the build... and some youtube's of it running with the Old Drivetrain!

I do have the car "For Sale" locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.

This is a quality build but I'm not responsible of any liability due to incompetent driving a Hi Performance car!!!!   Hahaha...Have fun

On Nov-08-09 at 20:56:22 PST, seller added the following information:

You don't know what a "REAL HOTROD" is until you drive this!

This is not some "cobbled together"  piece of crap disguised as a traditional car... or a "Cartoon Car"...  this is a perfect example of a "REAL HOTROD" designed and built in the late 50's early 60's utilizing the "Best Muscle car Engine and technology" shoehorned in the lightest car possible for serious performance!

But Like I said before this car can be driven reliably on the street and is competitive on the Dragstrip!

Take this Baby for a test drive and you'll never go back to the Pansey Powered streetrods again!

I've been photographed and Flashed by Beautiful Women more than I can count driving this "Monster" around... (it's a bit distracting especially when my Fiance' is riding with me!) that's the truth!!!!

I always thought that people can't "BUY COOL" but if you have the guts to drive this car around... you will be COOL by default!
