RARE ‘47 Willys CJ2A 4x4 pickup

History: This is a 2^nd owner vehicle and we have a complete set of receipts for items purchased and the construction of the vehicle. “To-The-Curb” Rod Shop, by Robert Strickland did 70-80% customizing of vehicle─serious buyers can call Robert for more construction details, but let’s not bug him unless you’re really serious; after all he’s trying to complete his shops latest project a ’48 Merc.

This is a show truck and award winner. ‘47 Willys CJ2A 4x4 pickup has been painted Hunter Green. As you can see from the photos it has a fully-customized interior in mint condition.

Engine & drive train, etc: This truck has the original drive train. Added to power sources is a fully-built small block Jeep V-8 304 c.i. engine taken from a 1972 - 78 CJ5 Jeep –10,000+ miles on engine. It is shifted with a 3 speed manual transmission, model T-90. Getting the power to the wheels requires a Dana 18 Transfer case. [Note: You can bolt on an Optional O.D. with no modifications; see Saturn Overdrive kit $900-1000.00---Advance Adapters Inc., Paso Robles, CA.] It finishes with a Dana 20 axles front and rear.

Hi-performance parts: Edelbrock 600 cfm carb with an auto choke and aluminum fuel lines on an Edelbrock “Performer” manifold. We’ve installed an aluminum customized gas tank and lines with flip door lock. It is fired with a MSD electronic ignition kit and distributor tied to Taylor plug wires. The neatness of the engine is detailed with chrome valve covers. Cooling is assisted with Hi-Flow Kooler water pump and a customized electric radiator fan, shroud, and reservoir. Exhaust is fed through a set of Edelbrock “Shorty Headers” and neatly done exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. It has a custom lift kit along with a custom Hydraulic Micro brake system - to lockup wheels. Connecting to the pavement or off road are customized wheels 15" and tires 37" BFG all mud terrain. The interior is completed with Auto Meter gauges and tachometer.

Location: Garage in sunny, dry and warm Bakersfield, CA where rust does not exist and cars stay pristine all their lives!
