Vehicle History Report Summary for 1980 MG MGB MGB
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1980 MGB, original Pageant Blue. Paint is original and bright and shiny; the car does not look 29 years old. An unusual and attention-grabbing color. The tan (or beige) interior is original and shows little wear. The best feature of the car is that it has only about 18,700 miles. This car has all of the classic options: overdrive, wire wheels, luggage rack. Plus A Very Special Feature: the car has a black leather wrapped roll bar, as originally delivered by the dealer who sold the car (Foreign and Sports Car, Inc. of Denver). A distinctive looking sports car and it drives wonderfully, just like a car with this kind of low mileage should. Only 3 owners with the current owner for over 14 years. Garaged nearly its entire life, including at least the last 25+ years. The 2nd owner actively entered the car in shows and classic car competitions and there are numerous show souvenirs mounted in the engine area (some can be seen in the pictures). Except for a new sport steering wheel and a manual choke, a small crack in the windshield (but the windshield should probably be replaced), and an AM/FM cassette player (removable version) and speakers, the car is as-delivered by the dealer. All of the hoses and other similar parts that suffer wear have been replaced so they are not original. New tires were put on the car last year and they have less than 100 miles on them. Please understand: This is NOT a restored car; it is a car with very low mileage. It is as if the buyer was buying a beautiful used 1980 MGB in 1982, based both on the low mileage and the cosmetics of the car, as well as the mechanical condition and the way it drives. Someone wanting a perfect restored car would have to put a minimal amount into this car to turn it into that perfect restored car. Includes a spare factory convertible top (in its original unopened shipping box) plus the original steering wheel plus a few extra parts. Includes original tonneau and tools, and the original owners manual, the original sales paperwork (the car sold new with 6 miles on the odometer on February 22, 1980 for $8,650, a discount of $670 from the sticker price), etc. Everything is there as the car was originally delivered by the dealer! Fun car to drive; tight and a classic MGB convertible from British Leyland Motors. Also included will be whatever books and brochures that I have about the MG/MGB cars. The car is located in
NO RUST. Dry climate Colorado car, garaged, no winter driving, no exposure to salt.
This car has been serviced at least once a year by Haglin Automotive in Boulder Colorado for about a dozen years. Owner and master mechanic Mr. Dana Haglin can and will vouch for the condition of this car and the mileage and the fact that the car has no rust. Service records are available. Also, all yearly State of Colorado emission test records are available and these also confirm the mileage for this car. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
