vehicles sold in the United States with a carbureted motor were
manufactured in early 1990. Emissions standards have forced all
manufacturers to make only fuel injected vehicles. With the
simplicity of fuel injection, these types of engines are much easier to
tune, and require less work. We noticed most vehicles use a rich mixture
of fuel. This wastes fuel, hurts engine life, and makes the engine
sluggish.

About Our Company
Gearhead was founded in 2001.
The company founder, Kevin Thompson, was looking for a performance chip
for his 1997 Ford Mustang. After shopping for all of the performance
chips available at the time he bought one that costs several hundred
dollars. After installing the chip, he noticed the gains, but he
wasn't satisfied with the price. Who wants to pay $300 for a
performance module? With his background in engineering, and as the
owner of a local racing shop, Kevin decided to start his own separate
company to create an all in one performance chip that would give the same
horsepower gains as higher priced chips, and increase fuel efficiency at
the same time. A short time later, GEARHEAD R/E was founded.
We've been selling the module's in our race shop locally, and have just
recently made them available on eBay. Because we have no middlemen
