Aluminized Stainless Steel Exhaust

Double-Wishbone Suspension

Coupe and convertible feature a Short/Long Arm (SLA) double-wishbone suspension with forged-aluminum A-arms and transverse composite springs. The suspension is capable of .92g road-holding ability on the skid pad (.98g with available Z51 Performance Package).

Z06 and ZR1 (very limited availability) use a similar geometry with wider wheels and tires to achieve a 1.04g lateral acceleration figure for the Z06 and 1.05g for the ZR1.

Three suspension choices are available: the standard suspension, Magnetic Selective Ride Control and the Z51 Performance Package.

Short-Throw Six-Speed Manual Transmission

If you like crisp, fast shifting, you'll savor the short-throw six-speed manual transmission that's standard in all models. The shifter itself is designed to be an extension of your hand, with improved shifting effort. Along with a light-clutch effort, it allows for lighter, faster shifts in either a joystick or palm-hand position. Because the transmission is located in the rear of the car and is connected to the engine by means of a transaxle and torque tube, Corvette achieves a near 50/50 weight distribution for better overall performance.

Xenon High-Intensity Discharge Headlamps

The low beams are a xenon high-intensity discharge projector lamp, coupled with tungsten-halogen high beams. At 900 lumens, the headlamps provide significant forward lighting power. The low beams also have a spread pattern that is wider than conventional headlamps.

Variable-Ratio Steering

NEW variable−ratio steering, standard on Corvette, Z06 and ZR1, varies the steering ratio depending upon the steering angle. The steering is engineered to react more slowly on center for better on−center feel at speed.

Z06 10-Spoke Silver Painted Spider Aluminum

NEW for 2009, Z06 features newly designed 10-spoke silver painted spider aluminum wheels in sizes 18 inch x 9.5 inch (front) and 19 inch x 12 inch (rear). The wheels are mounted to Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar Extended Mobility Tires (EMT) in sizes 275/35ZR-18 (front) and 325/30ZR-19 (rear). EMT tires are designed to operate at 0 psi for up to 100 miles at 55 mph should a flat occur. Z06 has a test-track top speed of 198 mph, and these tires are speed-rated to 205 mph. Also available in chrome aluminum.

Extended Mobility Tires

Every Corvette is equipped with "Run-Flat" Extended Mobility Tires (EMT) that help eliminate the need for a spare. The tire design helps enable safe function during and after loss of pressure for up to 100 miles of continuous driving at 55 mph. Keep in mind that the shorter the distance you drive with the loss of pressure, the better the chance the tire can be repaired.

Keyless access with push-button start

Tire Pressure Monitor

In the event the tire pressure in any of the vehicle's tires drops below 26 psi, the monitor signals the driver via a message on the Driver Information Center. You can also monitor each tire's pressure to the nearest one psi. Corvette is equipped with Extended Mobility Tires (EMT) that are designed to operate at 0 psi air pressure for up to 100 miles at 55 mph should a flat occur.

Every Corvette provides peace of mind with OnStar(1) (standard for one year) to help protect you and your family on the road with nine safety and security features. An OnStar Advisor is always ready to help in a variety of situations, whether you've locked your keys your car(2) or have a flat tire. And with Automatic Crash Response, if you're involved in certain types of collisions, built-in sensors can automatically alert an OnStar Advisor who is immediately connected into your vehicle and can request emergency help be sent to your determined location.

Bluetooth® Wireless Technology for Select Compatible Phones(1)

Integrated Bluetooth^® wireless technology for select compatible phones(1) lets you answer and end calls without touching your mobile phone—because now most Bluetooth-compatible cell phones can be connected to the vehicle audio system. In addition, as an incoming call is answered, the vehicle's audio system is conveniently and automatically muted. Not available on 1LT, 1LZ and 1ZR trim levels.

Head-Up Display

The available Head-Up Display (HUD) projects selected key vehicle information − even directions from an available navigation system − onto the windshield, allowing the driver to focus on driving. Standard in Z06 and ZR1 and included with coupe and convertible (3LT and 4LT trim levels).

There are three settings for HUD − street, track 1 and track 2 − selectable by the mode button. In total, there are 10 different display combinations the driver can select, including vehicle speed, engine rpm, a performance upshift guide for the six-speed manual transmission, and readings from key gauges, such as temperature and oil pressure.

A real-time g-meter also displays lateral acceleration in track mode. A gear readout for vehicles equipped with the available Six-Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes appears only when the gear selector is in the "S" mode and the Paddle Shift is in operation.

Z06 Seats

Bucket seats with perforated leather seating surfaces, special Z06 embroidery and contrasting stitching are standard in Z06. They come in solid Ebony, Ebony with Red accents or Ebony with Titanium accents. Door and instrument panels now feature the contrasting color.

A Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package for Z06 (3LZ Preferred Equipment Group) features two-tone seats with a choice of Sienna/Ebony, Linen/Ebony and NEW Titanium/Ebony surface colors, all with contrasting stitching. A NEW Ebony/Ebony seat with contrasting gray stitching is also available.
