BMW Factory Auxiliary Audio Input Accessory Kit for 5 Series & 6 Series 

An Auxiliary Adapter is now available for 2004MY 5 Series (E60/61), 6 Series (E63/64). Installation of this kit provides a direct audio input into the radio that allows you to plug in an MP3 player, portable CD player, cassette player, or any other audio device, which has an audio output, such as a headphone jack.

The kit consists of a cable, mounting plate, mounting hardware, and installation instructions. The input cable plugs into the back of the in-dash radio control unit and has a standard 3.5mm stereo female audio connector on the opposite end. A mounting plate attaches the audio connector firmly in the glove box of the vehicle.

It is currently available for 2004MY and on 5 Seriesand  6 Series It will not work on early years and will not be made for the 745 (E65) model.
