Q: How to Listen to Digital Music in Your Car?
Entertainment is the key to a successful road trip, and in the 21st century, conversation isn't going to suffice for anything longer than a trip to the corner store. Listening to the radio is fine when driving near your home, but if your trip is longer than half an hour, you're going to lose reception. You need digital audio in your car.
You'll need a way to connect your digital audio to your car stereo. How to find digital audio to listen to, how to connect a portable audio player to your car stereo, and how to support and power it during your road trip.
1:Connect a Portable Audio Player to Your Car Stereo
Aux-in port. Some stereos have an auxiliary port right on the front. With a $2 male/male cable available at any electronics store, you can connect your portable audio player directly to your stereo and enjoy great sound quality.
Add-on Aux in Port. Some stereos that don't have a factory installed aux-in port can have one added for a small fee. Car shops like Car Toys can add these ports to your vehicle for under $100. Sometimes this port will replace the car's CD changer, but other vehicles have multiple inputs hidden behind the dash that aren't typically in use.
CD changer port. Most factory and aftermarket car stereos can connect to the CD changer port on the back of your stereo (assuming you don't already have a CD changer). Vendors such as BlitzSafe and PIE produce adapters that connect your portable audio player to your CD changer port, and they cost between $50 and $200. If you're not comfortable removing your stereo, you can pay a stereo installer around $100 to connect the adapter. If you have a popular model of a portable audio player, you might also find adapters that let you control your portable audio player using the buttons on your stereo and steering wheel. This is an expensive route, but the sound quality is excellent.
2: Digital music cd changer
It delivers CD-quality sound directly into the factory sound system via the CD changer port, without the loss of sound quality that occurs with existing cassette and FM transmitter solutions.Directly control from car stereo panel, user only need a SD card or USB disk, then you enjoy the digital music(MP3/WMA) in your car,Aux input for external audio source. It support most OEM Radio and Aftermarket Radio.
Q: Is It Difficult To Install A CD Changer?
Any competent “DIYer” can do it Set yourself some free time to plan and install your CD changer. No need to ask for a professional installer.
Steep 1 Decide where you want to install your CD changer. The most common locations are in the trunk or underneath a seat, but you may be able to get creative and find a spot that is both convenient and hidden, depending upon your vehicle. Also take your cabling paths into consideration when you pick this location and whether you will be able to easily hide the power cord and CD interface leads.
Step 2 Determine how you are going to hook up your CD changer to the stock unit in your car. Some car radios, especially older ones, do not have additional output jacks to which you can add additional equipment. In this case, you will need to purchase an FM adapter, which will allow you to play your CD changer through a designated radio frequency.
Step 3 Locate a cabling path for the power cord of the CD changer between your installation location and the main unit in the dashboard. Check that the supplied power cord will reach (longer cords are available as an option) and that you will be able to hide the cord from view by pulling up the carpet.
Step 4 Find out if your factory-installed car radio has an existing CD interface, which will determine where you will plug in the leads to your new CD changer. If it doesn't have this interface, run new leads to the back of the radio. The retail outlet where you purchased your CD changer should be able to supply this information.
Step 5 Use the mounting hardware that came with your CD changer to install the unit. Usually, you will be given a choice between a bracket that is screwed to the floor or Velcro straps in order to secure the changer. A screwdriver will be needed to not only fasten the bracket but to help you remove and reinstall the carpeting in your vehicle.
Tips & Warnings
Many car audio manufacturers recommend that you disconnect your car battery and remove the keys from the ignition before you do any major installation work.
Is it difficult? There is another easier way to choose: Intall a Digital music cd changer.
Just connect it to your cd chagner port, only need a SD card or USB disk, then you enjoy the digital music(MP3/WMA) in your car,Aux input for external audio sources,Auxiliar devices such as MP3 players,Potable DVD players,MinDisk Player, handheld gaming systems, notebook computers and IPHONE can be added to the OEM radio while delivering optimum sound quality.
