YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1956 FORD, THUNDERBIRD, OR MERCURY HOLLEY CARBURETOR, A 4000, CODE ECZ 9510 M LIST 1161-2. THIS CARBURETOR WAS MADE FOR THE 1956 FORD PRODUCTS WITH THE 312 ENGINE AND SINGLE FOUR, HOWEVER, IT WILL FIT THE 292 AND 272 IF EQUIPPED WITH THE PROPER 1956 INTAKE MANIFOLD.
THIS UNIT HAS THE CORRECT NUMBERS FOR RESTORATION ON A 1956 FORD PRODUCT WITH THE 312 ENGINE AND EITHER AN AUTOMATIC OR STANDARD TRANSMISSION.. IT WILL ALSO FIT THE 1956 FORD FAIRLANE AND CROWN VICTORIA WITH THE SINGLE FOUR BARREL. IT HAS THE SAME JETTING AS THE 312 THUNDERBIRD 4000, WHICH IS CORRECT FOR THE 292 ALSO.
THE CARBURETOR AND CHOKE ASSEMBLY WERE COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED AND SOAKED IN CARBURETOR CLEANER FOR APPROX. ONE WEEK ,THEY WERE THEN RINSED AND ALLOWED TO DRY. ALL AIR PASSAGEWAYS WERE BLOWN THROUGH WITH COMPRESSED AIR UNTIL COMPLETELY CLEAN. THE BRONZE PARTS OF THE CARBURETOR WERE THEN STAINED WITH EASTWOOD'S STAIN FOR CARBURETORS, THE ALUMINUM PARTS WERE POLISHED. ALL LINKAGE PARTS WERE CLEAR COATED.
THE CARBURETOR WAS THEN REASSEMBLED TO FORD SPECIFICATIONS WITH A REBUILD KIT PURCHASED FROM DAYTONA CARBURETORS IN EDGEWOOD, FLORIDA. I HAVE FOUND THEIR KITS TO BE THE MOST ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE IN MY EXPERIENCE. I HAVE BEEN REBUILDING THESE HOLLEY CARBS FOR 45 YEARS AND HAVE SOLD WELL OVER 140 ON EBAY, AND HAVE HAD NO COMPLAINTS. MY FEEDBACK RATING IS 100%. THE KIT INCLUDES ALL NEW GASKETS, CHECK BALLS, O-RINGS, NEW IDLE SCREWS , NEW SECONDARY DIAPHRAGM AND EVEN NEW CARBURETOR TO MANIFOLD GASKET AND CARBURETOR TO AIR CLEANER GASKET. IT ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL 56 CHOKE COVER WITH 56 EMBOSSED ON IT. THESE CARBURETORS NOT ONLY LOOK GOOD BUT WILL PERFORM PROPERLY WHEN INSTALLED BY A COMPETENT MECHANIC, BACKYARD OR OTHERWISE.
