1971 Plymouth Barracuda CUDA
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1972 Hemi Cuda PRO TOURING. This car has been completely rebuilt with a new 2007 SRT 8 Crate Motor, Tremec 600 5 Speed with Hurst Pistol Grip, 373 posi unit. The paint is Viper Red done in base coat and clear coat by Bob Cole. This car is very straight! Interior is stock with center console and custom brushed aluminum top, 3 point seat belts. Clutch is Hydraulic with a Center Force disc and pressure plate, works very smoothly. All metal in good shape, trunk was replaced, stock floor pan very solid. Car has three different insulators, sprayed with lizard skin top and bottom, Dynamat for sound control and another layer for heat plus carpet pad and carpet. Stainless Fuel tank with built-in Pump with Corvette 65 PSI regulator. The engine as said is a 2007 crate motor (zero miles) that has TTI coated headers, stock alternator (140 amp) and 2007 power steering pump with pressure reduced to match the 1972 steering. 2 ½ inch stainless exhaust, aftermarket high flow hemi mufflers. It has a Chrysler performance 90mm throttle body, wiring harness and computer (AEM) that is Completely programmable with a lap top. The computer is hidden in the passenger kick panel. This motor should conservatively make 450 HP, I have seen these motors with the same setup make 470-480hp with well over 400 HP to the wheels. I have built lots of cars, these motors are really sweet, idles smoothly and roars when you get into it and loves to rev. Radiator is a large double pass cross flow aluminum with custom mounting. Fan shroud is a custom aluminum design that has been powder coated & that houses a 2 speed 17 inch fan customized from a 2007 SUV. It works great and is quiet unlike many aftermarket fans! Radiator is mounted in rubber to prevent stress cracks. A/C pump is a Sanden unit with a custom made bracket, solid no vibration and no belt squeaks. A/C condenser is new. Custom A/C hoses and brackets, all mostly hidden. Note in picture where the battery used to be (now an odyssey in the trunk) is now the air cleaner box (custom), large K&N air filter with hidden cold air scoop. The theme of the engine compartment was to make it look like a factory SRT8 Install, minimal chrome but highly detailed.
