First, pick the spot where you want to install
the hidden antenna. The best place is along the top of the windshield
or behind the rear view mirror. It does not matter if the antenna
is horizontal or vertical. The antenna includes Velcro for mounting,
so if you decide to change the location of the antenna you can
do so easily. Exclusive feature! Do not place the antenna where
it will affect your forward visibility. Metal will not allow
reception, avoid surrounding the antenna with metal and keep
the antenna at the highest point possible. Glass, plastic and
fiberglass do not affect reception.
Before sticking the antenna to the glass, make
sure you have figured out how you are going to run the cable
and power back to the radio. You should not pinch the wires
in any way. Clean the surface where you are planning on attaching
the antenna with an alcohol prep pad or else the antenna will
not stick.
The Motorola plug will fit most radios. It
simply plugs into the back of the radio. Some cars/bikes may
require an adaptor which is available at most electronic stores.
The smaller diameter wire needs to be connected to 12 volts.
This can be found in the wiring coming out of the back of the
stereo. A switched ignition source is preferred. Make sure the
wire is protected by a fuse.
