If you have ever had to drive on ice and snow, you know that sometimes tire chains are essential.

And if you have ever had to put them on, you know that it can be a difficult and messy job when the tire presses down on the chains.

Now there is an elegantly simple product that makes that job easy, even for someone not familiar with tire chains.

The patented ramp allows you to lay the chains in place, with the cross links positioned in the grooves of the ramps, then drive the tire onto the ramp, leaving enough slack in the chain to make attaching them much easier.

The ramps have ribbed bottoms to keep them from slipping, and, if it is really icy, the enclosed screws can be added to the pre-drilled holes in the bottom of the ramp to provide better grip.

Measuring 16 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches, the ramps stand approximately 2 inches tall.  The ramps are large enough to do the job, and small enough to store in the trunk or under the seat when not in use.

They have a 3,500 pound weight limit, making them usable for nearly all applications.  In addition to car and truck tires, they make the job of putting chains on garden tractors and other equipment easier as well.

And, if you have a "lowrider", they provide enough lift to be able to get a jack under the car with greater ease. See the photos of the silver colored car at right without, and with, the ramps to provide some extra lift.

The photos show the design, as well as the ramp in use.  We have been asked about their use with big tires.  The last photo shows the ramp under an LT315-70 R17 tire.  They work just as well with smaller tires.
