After 20 years, your 1987  to  1991 Ford Mustang rear hatch
striker bolt plastic bushing is probably pretty worn.

I know mine was! 

The plastic bushing was broke and missing several pieces. I don't know how it
managed to stay on the striker bolt let alone hold my hatch.

At first the hatch would close from 6" away, then 12" away, then after having to put my
body weight into and slamming it from 24" away - I knew there had to be a better way.

Buying one from a wrecking yard was not an option as it would have been just as worthless as mine.
And I wasn't about to pay $45 for a new assembly w/ plastic bushing through my local Ford Dealership.

After a few weeks of searching I found the answer and am now offering it to you.

With this new metal bushing my hatch now closes from 4" away using only 1 finger, and so will yours!
