Report itemAxle kit for building your own trailer axle. 3500 pound. You will supply the tubing, 2" square with a 1/4" wall. If you are replacing an axle use the old one as a pattern. If you are building a trailer mount your leaf springs and measure the overall width from outside of spring to outside of spring and cut your tube 6" longer than that, weld in the spindles, weld on the spring seats, mount the hubs and your axle is ready to mount on your trailer. When you build an axle with this tubing you get a much stronger axle than the factory made ones you can buy from a trailer place. If you compare the cost of this kit to the cost of a completed axle plus shipping you will find this is a very economical way to go. You can use 3/16" wall tube, but it is a looser fit. If you cut a plug hole in the tube and weld it to the spindle then it will be very secure. Any questions, let me know and thanks for looking. Kit includes 2, 3500 pound spindles with 1 1/2" square stub. 2 spindle nuts, washers and cotter pins. 2 hubs complete with bearings, seals, dust caps and lug nuts.
