1967 RO 23 / WO 23 PLYMOUTH DODGE HEMI 15" x 6" Rims Stock SS Wheels
OK. You want a stock set of 15” wheels for your 1967 RO or WO MOPAR car. Plymouth and Dodge made somewhere around 400 wheels total for these cars and most were taken off and discarded for nicer racing wheels or modified beyond stock. Now, I say to you in your search -- GOOD LUCK!!! I spent 12 years looking for rims for my car – one set of 4 – How hard could that be? Well, let me tell you. Nearly impossible. I saw two 1967 RO Plymouths last year go through the auctions at well over $100K with the wrong rims and hub caps on them. How does that happen? NO RIMS!!! NONE!!! Or you can find one, two and maybe three… in years of searching... so, you find a set of the nearest match and call it good. Now, you try and talk to the builder or owner selling the car and they swear those are the correct rims and hub caps. Who am I to argue with a man that knows he is right or at least in his mind. I worked in a Plymouth dealership in 1967 and serviced two RO cars and I remember the cars like that was yesterday. And there are still a couple of pristine examples out there. So, I think I know the difference – do you?
Now, what I have here is 4 matching set of wheels – 1967 Plymouth and Dodge specs - 15” x 6”wide restored rims for a 1967 Plymouth RO 23 Belvedere or 1967 Dodge Coronet WO 23 - the HEMI CARS. Both models were low production HEMI race prepped right from the factory. The hardest part of these Super Stock cars is to find a set of MATCHING 15” x 6” stock rims. The rims were painted the color of the bodies – WHITE. These rims took a lot of research to find the correct centers and then the rims themselves were restored by STOCKTON WHEEL COMPANY at a considerable expense. The rims are now stock black back sided and primed on the face ready to paint. So, if you have a STOCK 66 SS car or a 1967 RO/WO car and want to run the 10-1/8” stock dog dish poverty hub caps correct for that year and model that came on the car – THESE ARE THE RIMS to fill that bill. The hub caps in the pics are for reference only - THE HUB CAPS DO NOT GO WITH THE RIMS. I only used the hub caps pictured to verify the correct cap and fit for the rims - yes, those are the correct 1967 Plymouth and Dodge dog dish poverty hub caps offered on their respective models - 1967 ONLY. I will be offering restored hub caps as soon as they are back from the polisher and detailer.
You say, WOW!!! xxx@#$^&^@### what is that guy thinking putting that kind of price tag on these wheels. Well, lets add it up. Each core center or core wheel is $100.00 each, the restoration of each wheel came to $286.65 – freight and shipping two ways included. This does not count the time to find the core rims, make the deal and then get the work done. And I don’t know about you, but I think my time is worth at least $10.00 an hour on a bad day. Hence – the cost of these wheels. Any questions or comments – make them before you bid or buy these rims. Thanks for looking. NOW, there are more good items coming to EBAY - a stock 1967 Hood Scoop - original, and a lot of SUPER STOCK items... Log me in as a favorite so you won't miss my next 30 offerings. HEMI - HEMI - HEMI - can you say HEMI ITEMS. Yes, I have them.
