Why does the front of end of my BMW shimmy upon braking?
The X5's suspension was intentionally designed to be responsive and nimble, unlike large awkward American SUV's which allow heavy weight to rest on the front wheels. As a light suspension, it is more prone to transmitting vibrations through the steering wheel. Just like in the 3-series and 5-series, these vibrations are caused by deteriorating components in the suspension. As these various components wear, the evidence of their wear becomes apparent through vibrations in the steering wheel most noticeably upon braking, and particularly between 50-65 mph (80-105kph).
Failure syndromes:
- The 50-60 Mph shimmy.
- Severely enhanced brake shimmy.
- Clunk noise (cause by defective ball joint).
- Bushings torn or with small cracks.
WHAT SHOULD BE DONE?
Replace all worn steering elements: These include control arms, thrust arms, tie rod assemblies, ball joints, sway bar links, idler arm, and center tie rod assembly (a.k.a. drag link)

Same day shipping in most circumstances. Order placed on Saturday or Sunday should be processed and shipped on Monday.
Free shipping is only applicable to the Continental United States. Domestic shipments traveling within the Continental United States will be shipped through UPS. The majority of orders are shipped out of our warehouse located in Connecticut. Therefore transit times will be as follows:

We use UPS World Ease. This is a special program that we offer where we ship all packages with the DUTY and BROKERAGE PREPAID!!! The duty and brokerage are built into the price that you have already paid.
International

International shipping will be provided by the United States Postal Service on most occasions. For locations outside of the United States and Canada, the only shipping
method we offer is Priority Mail International . UPS Standard is applicable
to items being shipped to CANADA only.

If any part within a 1 year period are defective, the customer must re purchase the new item. After the new item is installed on the vehicle, they customer sends the defective item back for credit.
This excludes typical wear items such as Brake Pads and Filters- Those typical wear items are covered under 30 day money back guarantee
We are committed to providing the best customer satisfaction possible. We will gladly refund or replace any defective item and most non-defective items.
Within 30 days of receipt of your order, you may return products that:
- Are in their original packaging
- Have original manufacturer information
- Are not used, installed, or disassembled
- Are not damaged due to incorrect installation
- Do not having missing parts, hardware or instructions
The following orders are not returnable:
- Custom or special orders
- Automotive repair manuals
- Electrical Parts and Components (Such as: ECU's, Push Button Units, relays, air mass meters, etc)
Once we have received your return, conducted an inspection of the return, and verified that your return meets the above guidelines, a full refund will be issued. All applicable sales taxes will be refunded. The cost of shipping will be credited only in those instances that the return is a result of our error. C.O.D. shipments will not be accepted.
