Rancho® RS9000X™ Shock Absorber The Rancho RS9000X nine-position fully adjustable performance shock absorber is now available for dozens of additional on- and off-road applications and in several extended-length designs.
Featuring an advanced tri-tube mono-flow design and nine-position adjustable valving, the RS9000X enables drivers to manually or remotely (from the cab) tune damping performance to match a vast range of performance situations. The shock's reserve/intermediate/primary tubes and mono-flow configuration yield 17 times greater fluid area than the original RS9000, ensuring exceptional performance under a full range of load and temperature conditions.
Rancho also offers an optional in-cab remote control kit - No. RS99700 - that permits adjustment of front and/or rear RS9000X shocks while the vehicle is in motion.
The ultimate shocks. If you’re looking for a great set of shocks, look no further than these Rancho RS9000X shocks. With triple-tube construction that yields 17 times greater fluid area than their predecessor, Rancho RS9000X shocks ensure exceptional performance under a full range of load and temperature conditions. The 9-position adjustment knob allows you to set your performance curve and comfort level.
Whether it’s soft for street, firm for off-road, or mid-range for comfortable highway driving, these RS9000X shocks let you make the call.

The world’s most popular fully-adjustable shock absorber for light trucks and sport utility vehicles now carries an “X” rating as a result of an all-new design that delivers significantly increased ride-tuning capabilities and unsurpassed performance in all driving conditions, on- and off-road.
The new Rancho RS9000X, now available for most popular domestic and import light trucks and SUVs, represents an entirely new level of technology that allows drivers to easily “dial in” their ride for precise control in any off-road, street or highway driving situation. The shock’s advanced tri-tube (reserve/intermediate/primary) design yields 17 times greater fluid area than its predecessor, ensuring exceptional performance under a full range of load and temperature conditions, according to Bill Johnson, director of engineering for Rancho Suspension.
“The RS9000X isn’t simply a case of raising the bar in terms of self-adjustability and control; this new shock completely changes the rules for on- and off-road performance driving,There is no other shock in the world that delivers this level of driver-tuned precision and comfort over such an extreme range of environmental conditions.”
Like its predecessor, the RS9000X is fully adjustable while mounted on the vehicle, but the new shock significantly increases the precision of tunable compression and rebound damping through nine, rather than five, metered settings. The RS9000X also features Rancho’s exclusive 15-stage velocity-sensitive valving for enhanced stability and traction.
The RS9000X includes a 16-mm-diameter hardened and double-chromed rod,
32-mm-diameter piston with Teflon band and an all-new rod guide design that reduces friction and improves flow for enhanced ride comfort.
