XTR brake pads offer three types of formuals: Metallic, Ceramic, and Extended Wear. All XTR's friction formuals creates better stopping power and less brake dust, keeping your wheels cleaner. All XTR brake pads are manufactured using the same positive molding process utilized by Original Equipment suppliers, using high quality shims to reduce pedal/rotor vibrations and less noise when braking. Positive molding uses extreme pressure to compress the friction material and bond it to the backing plate. This process assures consistent friction material density throughout the pad, giving results in even wear and performance characteristics throughout the life of the brake pads. XTR pads are the only full-line of aftermarket pads that are scorched. This OEM process enhances key friction performance levels. Scorching raises initial cold effectiveness, stabilizes friction levels right out of the box, and provides consistent performance across the entire operating range.
