This unique product is a "switchblade" style remote+key combo unit.  It performs two functions: It works as a key AND a keyless entry remote.

With the press of the silver button, the hidden keyblade is spring-released, automatically locking into the useful position.  Press the button again so you can press the blade back into it's hidden position. This device is made of high-quality, high-impact ABS plastic and chrome steel components. It also has a high-quality feel. 

Here's how to get your new switchblade key to work on your vehicle.  it's a simple, two-step process:

Use the "buy it now" option and in about a week it will arrive to your mailbox.
2) Stop by your local dealer or locksmith, have the key cut and your car programmed to recognize your new switchblade remote+key combo.

What's programming?  In order for the key to start your vehicle, your vehicle must be programmed to recognize the electronic "transponder" chip embedded in the key.   it's all part of the anti-theft system already built into your vehicle.  This device comes complete with the correct chip already installed, ready for programming by your local dealer or locksmith. 

Your car is hooked up to a small, hand-held computer, and in seconds the process is complete.  Many dealerships do programming free as a courtesy.   If the dealer in your area does charge a fee, most local automotive locksmiths will do the same service for smaller fee to remain competitive.  

As mentioned, this device operates another system on your vehicle: the keyless entry functions (remote lock, unlock, etc).   Your dealer/locksmith can do the programming for those functions at the same time as programming your key.

Alternatively, you can program the remote keyless entry functions yourself with the free instructions included with your order.   The instructions are written so first-timers can easily complete in seconds.  No tools or special knowledge is required.    Again, the instructions only work for the keyless entry functions.  Most of our customers just have their dealer/locksmith do BOTH programming procedures at the same time.
