graves mountain rutile crystal lincoln co Georgia

#1361  This is a very bright and shiny rutile crystal from graves mountain. This one is a fantastic representative sample of a high quality crystal .  It scores a 9 out of a 10 .  It has sharp edges , brilliant reflective surfaces ,  has no immediately discernible damage , and has a touch of adhering matrix.    1 1/8" x 1 1/4" x 1 3/8" .    It is very difficult to photo blck shiny object as the subject either reflects all the light back in a blinding glare , or , absorbs all the light and does not reveal the subject.     I have taken a number of pictures of this specimen , under various lighting and background and with various cameras  , so please check out all the photos .  This one looks many times better than in the photos.       One  thing about photographing these is that the slightest flaw reflects light back to the cameras " eye" .   Quite the opposite is true when viewing these in real life.   Any flaw is hidden and hard to detect  becuase of the dark coloring and the reflective nature of even the broken surface .    This one has no visible defects under casual inspection .  It is very close to perfect and is better than most of the rutile crystals that you will ever see.   This one has marked stress cracking which is normal for almost every rutile you will ever see.  This is an ancient crack and his due to pressure drop during its formation   It is of course backed with a money back gaurantee . This crystal was found in 1990 in the upper notch by some friends of mine .  .
