This player has been tested and upgraded with the latest v2.51 firmware, battery charged, and the hard drive formatted, error checked and ready to accept you favorite music. It is Napster-to-Go and Rhapsody compatible. The player is in overall great condition, with a very small dent on the front below the scroll, and some very shallow dents on the back, typical for the 5-6gb players. Real-time battery life is around 6-8 hours depending on your optional player settings. The player holds around 1000 to 1200 songs depending on MP3 or WMA format. Minimum PC requirements to function properly are Windows XP with Service Pack 1 with Windows Media 10 is recommended, although you can dispense with Windows Media by dragging and dropping songs onto the player. There are other music management programs that can be used such as Rock Box and Easy H10. You may want to check out misticriver.net, a web site devoted exclusively to iRiver players, with forums for repair and managing music.These players are very rugged and can take some abuse without malfunctioning.
