The Infamous “Ginger e Fred” Cup - #564

You are bidding on the infamous Ginger & Fred cup.  Only 6,000 cups were produced. The cup is decorated with a Federico Fellini drawing which was selected in occasion of the New York Tutto Fellini exhibit, sponsored by illy.   See the listing pictures for the actual Fellini drawing which inspired this cup.

This series was produced in the October 1993.  The cup was commissioned for the exhibition Tutto Fellini Tenutasi held in New York in December of 1993.   This cup was distributed without a brochure.

Illy Collection 101

If you are just starting collecting ILLY cups, here are some things you should know before you start your own collection. Remember … an educated bidder is a smart bidder.

·         The difference between "illy collection" and "illy espresso"  - "illy collection" or "illy espresso" is usually inscribed inside the cup.   Cups with "illy collection" inscription are usually considered as the real collection cups.  Cups with "illy espresso" are also known as "bar cups".  These cups are usually for restaurant use. 
  

·         The difference between "illy collection" and "amici collection"  - Amici is the name that Illy uses in Switzerland.  The founder of Illy sold his name in Switzerland to another coffee maker.  For most of the cups, both illy and amici collections share the same design.  As always, there are few exceptions.
  

·         Number and Signature - Cups with "illy collection" inscriptions usually come with designer's signature and a unique number.  The signature and number usually are placed on the bottom of the cup. 
  

·         Box and Brochure - It is always a plus to have the cups coming with the original gift box and brochure.  Some vendors sell Illy cups in cardboard and/or Styrofoam boxes without telling you those are not "gift" box.   Not all collections have a gift box, especially the early collections.  The bottom line is to make sure that you ask if the cups are in the real "gift box" not just simply a box. 
  

·         Special / Limited Edition - Almost each year a few of the designs are made for special events or exhibitions.  Some of these cups / sets are limited with different inscription inside the cups.  Those cups are harder to find since they are not mass produced.

Shipping Policy

We only ship to North America – the lower 48 states.  In rare circumstances, we will consider shipping outside of this area.  This decision will be based on buyer’s history/reputation and shipping location. 

We only ship to the Paypal confirmed address or the credit card billing address. If you specify a different shipping address in checkout your address will be changed to the Paypal confirmed address; unless special arrangements have been made with us.  Just let us know.

We will ship your item within 1-3 business days after payment has been received.

Return Policy / Warranties

Please note all items are sold “as-is” and sales are final.   All items will be shipped with insurance and you will be sent a tracking number so you can track the shipment every part of the way.

For electronic items, we guarantee that item was operable when shipped.  If the product is not operable when received, please let us know.

On all items that have a warranty, please note that we are not an authorized dealer of this product and any warranty included with the product may or may not be honored by the manufacturer.
