A bit about the artist......

I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. My first artistic success came when I was in fourth grade and I copied Van Gogh's "La Mousme’." The other kids told me I was an artist! I love figuratives and keep busy on the side with portrait commissions. The artistic chromosomes go back to my great Uncle, Joseph Reidsema, who was an artist in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s in Michigan and California. He was a plein aire painter of landscapes, seascapes and portraits. My Grandfather, Roy was also an artist and my mother , Doris, painted as well, so I had encouragement and access to art supplies from her from a very young age.

I consider myself a contemporary realist with impressionist leanings. ;)

I’m a Juried member of Daily Painters Gallery, a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and a juried member of The American Impressionist Society.
