Convenient and affordable alternative to Macro extension tubes
Reversing ring, 58mm lens filter attachment to Canon EOS EF mount camera body.

This auction is for a lens reversing ring made from black anodized aluminium. One side of the ring has a bayonet mount to fit your Canon EOS EF mount camera body. The other side has a 58mm thread to attach to your lens filter thread (use a step down ring if your lens filter attachment diameter is greater than 58mm).

The female filter thread shown in the picture is 47mm.

You can use any camera lens that can take or adapt to 58mm filters. It does not need to be a Canon lens or even an EF mount. Suitable for all Canon EOS cameras, film and digital.

By reversing your lens and fitting it "wrong way" onto your camera you turn it into a microscope. The shorter the focal length the higher the magnification (so your wide angle lens will give a higher magnification than your telephoto).

A generous 5mm wide grip ring to make detachment from the camera easy (unlike some of those available from other sellers).

The image included with this listing is a 400x400 pixel-for-pixel clip from an image that I took with my 350D using the standard Canon 18-55mm zoom lens (set at 18mm) that came with the camera.  It shows a blue cotton thread passing through the eye of a small embroidery needle. The image is of an area approximately 0.8mm wide and 0.8mm high. The subject was 40mm from the lens. My camera was set in Av mode to get the convenience of automatic exposure. Good lighting is required for best results.
