US Stamps scott #524 on cover Extremely Rare

 

Sieger #28D, 1929 Round-the-World Flight, unusual and very scarce single franking of the $5.00 Deep green and black (Scott #524), tied to legal size cover by "New York, N.Y./G.P.O./Aug. 6, 1929" duplex, violet flight cachet and signed by Dr. Hugo Eckner, backstamped, light edge wear and stains on the reverse, otherwise very fine; this value is rarely found on any collectable cover, all of which are large, this being a particularly desirable Zeppelin usage with this single franking (Scott for #524 on cover $2,500.00; Michel #31Aa)
