Evil Dead: Hail to the King is a survival horror game for the PlayStation and Dreamcast video game consoles and PC.

Plot

Eight years after his adventures in the Army of Darkness movie, Ashley "Ash" Williams finds himself haunted by nightmares of deadites. With new girl and fellow "S-Mart" employee Jenny, Ash must return to the cabin from the original Evil Dead and confront his past. Unfortunately, Ash's evil amputated hand from Evil Dead II plays Professor Raymond Knowby's cassette tape and once again reawakens the evil in the woods. Jenny is taken, and Ash's evil twin breaks out of the mirror. Armed with his axe, his chainsaw, and his trusty "boomstick", only Ash can find the missing pages of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis and banish the evil forever.

Weapons

    * Axe - Ash begins the game with the trusty axe from the cabin. Good for chopping wood and deadites. Obviously this weapon is only useful at a close distance.
    * Chainsaw - The chainsaw represents the signature weapon of ash. Attached at the wrist after cutting off his possessed hand, the chainsaw is most fun when used to gut deadites.
    * Pistol - This is Professor Knowby's old .45 pistol. Ash starts the game with the pistol in his inventory.
    * Boomstick - The 12-gauge double-barreled, walnut stocked, cobalt blue steeled, hair triggered shotgun. Better known as the boomstick. Holds less ammo but does more damage than the pistol.
    * Rifle - This weapon holds fewer rounds than the pistol but more than the boomstick. Does decent damage. Might be able to find it near the old camping ground.

Items

    * Ammo - Look for standard ammo fare like bullets and shotgun shells. Ash will also find upgrade parts that can be used to modify your existing weapons. After a weapon has been upgraded, the appropriate ammo can be found throughout the environments.
    * Blank Tapes - These are used to save the game progress at any inventory chest.
    * Gas Cans - Ash has to collect these to refuel his chainsaw.
    * Puzzle Pieces - Throughout the game, ash will have to find various objects in order to solve puzzles needed to advance in certain areas. Pay attention to cinematics for clues to objectives.
    * Necronomicon Pages - Ash will have to collect pages from the Necronomicon that have been scattered around the woods.He will have to collect them in order to drive out the evil and seal the gate that brings them to our world.
    * Journals and Notes - During ash's travels, he will find various journal entries, research notes and other text pages that will provide him with the back story and possibly some useful information.

Villains

Evil Hand

Ash's evil hand does appear in the game, when a Deadite takes over his hand. The hand is used for a very important tool later in the game near the end

Bad Ash

The Dark Ones knew of Ash's weird connection to the Necronomicon, so they assumed spinning off his evil half to do their bidding would be a good idea. Wrong. He may be bigger and stronger, but he isn't half the man Ash is. But then again, he is 95% more Deadite than Ash...and that's the problem.

Deadites

Deadites are the drones of the dark ones. Their army of slaves eager to eat flesh and carry out demonic biddings of their masters. Some were once human, others are spawned straight from hell. Don't know which one of them is worse. Doesn't really matter, though. The ol' chainsaw doesn't know the difference..and doesn't care.

Wolverine Troops

There were reports of missing wolverine troup scouts. Seems they went on a little camping trip in the woods. Big mistake. But it is not really Ash's problem..unless they make it his problem. In that case, they're all going to be receiving a special badge in buckshot collecting from Uncle Ash.

Hellbillies

Don't know for sure, but there might be another shack nestled somewhere in the woods. Heard it was some sort of weirdo family. The evil has already reached them. Who knows? Ash may have to pay those inbreds a little house call.

Skeletons

These boneheads are exactly what you think they are: souless, animated skeletons that were once human...that is, until the evil turned them into their little slaves.

I'm sure there is more evil in the woods and preharps elsewere. They at least exist in Ash's nightmares. More deadites. More unspeakable horrors. Well...unspeakable at least until Ash runs into them...
