THIS AUCTION:

this is a wonderful LARGE antique japanese satsuma / kutani / imari porcelain figurine. standing figures of these types of wares are not easily found.

the young male scholar carrying a large pack of kindling wood on his back , stands and reads a book. traditional dress elaborately decorated in polychrome raised enamels and gold. no apparent marks, circa 1920. over 15" tall.

this piece, along with the other oriental porcelain we're listing from this estate, has remained in this home for over 60 years.

NOTE:     property from an old haddonfield, new jersey estate
