old Brass Ships Lantern nautical rare collectors lamp

antique brass wall ships lantern
with swivel for rough voyage on boat

Consigned by a southern gentleman who is riding himself of
some of his estate

this is a wonder SOLID BRASS with a cast iron
weight base old lantern that was used in ships
to either sit on a table (that is why it has a cast iron
weighted base)
or hook on a wall hook (see photos)

As the ship would sway the lamp would move with the ship.
It has been altered to be used as an electricfied
end table lamp

You can convert back or polish up

RARE

Also has a rod on the side I assume this was to adjust
the wick or flame (like a push up candlestick)

Stands 12.5" tall with a 7.5" diameter ring
at the top for the glass shade
5.25" cast iron weighted base with the rest of the lamp
being solid cast brass or turned
