It comes inside the pictured marble bowl carved in India. The bowl measures 1 1/2" wide. The earrings measures approximately 1" high without including the hanger x just under 1/2" wide. Moonstone : Moonstone (orthoclase) is a semi-translucent stone made of albite and orthoclase feldspar. It is usually whitish-blue, but can be colorless, yellow, brown, orange, grey, or even reddish. Moonstone's characteristic shimmer is known as schiller or adularescence, and is caused by the intergrowth of these two different types of feldspar that have different refractive indexes. Moonstone is monoclinic; it has one two-fold axis of symmetry. Considered a good luck stone, moonstone is sacred in India, is a symbol of the third eye, is said to balance yin/yang, and is believed to arouse a lover's passion. It is also the birthstone for June. Moonstone has a hardness of 6 and a specific gravity of 2.57.
