  • This photograph was taken from Pier 17 (South Street Seaport) as she traveled south down the East River
  • The John J. Harvey was constructed in 1931
  • She was the fastest fireboat ever constructed in the US.
  • She was retired by the FDNY in 1994.
  • The John J. Harvey was called back into service on 9/11 to aid FDNY after the water line at
    Ground Zero was disabled.
  • Participated in the successful rescue of all 155 passengers on board flight 1549 which crashed into the Hudson River on January 16, 2009 by securing the hull of the US Airways, A320.
  • She will always have a place in New York City's history!
