Rug Description


Pre-1900 Antique Oushak

The rich red field of this sumptuous Oushak is graced by soft light green center medallion and covered with beige and saffron palmettes, and tendrils, clusters of arabesques. The forms and soft light green ground of the border echoes the field elements giving the carpet a unified yet contrasting effect. This is a classic Oushak design with bold large-scale drawing for which Oushaks are rightly prized as superior decorative rugs.
