ITEM DESCRIPTION
very clean and utilitarian vintage american industrial machine table manufactured by the pollard bros., chicago, il. the pollard brothers began manufacturing steel factory equipment in 1921 when brother’s henry and bert pollard formed the company. civil and mechanical engineers from the university of illinois, henry and bert returned to the chicago area after serving in world war i. drawing on their degrees and experience in the armed forces they sought to manufacture a more substantial workbench leg for the field and factory. the factory machine cart or table has cross-bracing on each corner of the table for added stability and/or reinforcement. the pollard bros. embossed stamp is found on the side of the table. the table's surface has been stripped, wire-brushed and treated with a clear coat lacquer. original swivel caster intact and functional. two matching tables available, priced individually. measures 22 x 26 x 33 1/2 inches.
