It's much easier than digging stumps out with your bucket. It is designed to snap the roots by swiping on each side and then prying the roots out. A stumper is more efficient for removing stumps than a bucket because it does not fill the load with dirt like a bucket does. The optional add on rake allows for cleaning up after you use the stumper and for raking out surface roots. The rake is also used for raking debris into piles or loading it onto trucks. When used with a thumb the rake acts as a grapple.
