Make and model Blaupunkt, model Sultan 2420, made in Germany, 1957.

Features Attractive and rare German tube radio. Mahogany veneered wooden cabinet with cream plastic front and speaker grilles. Three speakers ( one elliptical wide range speaker and two flat electrostatic tweeters). Tubes: ECC85, ECH81, EF89, EABC80, EL84, EM80. LW/MW/SW/FM bands. FM frequency range 87.5 - 100 Mhz. Separate bass and treble tone controls, each with their own indicator, and three tone control presets (hifi, solo, sonor). 'Magic Eye' tuning indicator. Illuminated glass station dial with separate pointers for AM and FM stations. Built-in dipole antenna for reception of strong local FM stations, can also be connected to serve as AM antenna. Extensions for external FM and AM antennas. Mains voltage selector 110-127-155-220-240 Volts.

Item Condition Attractive vintage radio with authentic '50s projection; in good condition with some traces of wear and age as is to be expected, cf. pictures. Tested and working well; very sensitive reception even with only the built-in dipole antenna (all wavebands). The EM80 'magic eye' is brand new and 100% bright. This radio has a mains voltage selector and should work well almost anywhere in the world; but reception conditions and antenna requirements may vary.
Disclaimer this radio does not have a modern ferroceptor antenna for the AM ranges; therefore reception on the AM bands (LW, MW and SW) is sensitive to interference caused by TL lighting, computers, switched power supplies etc.
