I bought these boots three and a half years ago from a WWII collector in Illinois. When I first put them on I felt like I was wearing something that should be on display behind a locked glass case in some old war museum. They were so uncomfortable. The original rubber soles cracked and crumbled off from old age and the leather was so stiff it felt like I was wearing wooden clogs. I still wore them almost everyday. After three and a half years I believe they have reached that perfect distressed condition naturally the way it should be. Just look at the pictures. Everytime I wear them someone asks me where I got them, who makes them and how much. You won't find another pair like them. I've had these boots resoled four times and patched around the toe by New York City's best shoe repair man. I have treated them like they were my first born. It's time to leave the nest. They measure 12 inches from heel to toe. These are the original laces. I am a mens size US10 but with an insole and thick sock they fit perfect. Good luck and thanks for taking a look. |
